In this tutorial, she shows how to use clipper and scissor techniques to build a clean outline, create balance through the body, and refine expression in the face and brows. You’ll see how she maintains breed character while softening edges for a more youthful, contemporary look that suits both pets and competition settings.

In this Tutorial, You will learn:

  • Create an Asian Fusion-inspired version of a classic Mini Schnauzer trim with balanced lines and a soft outline.
  • Use a #5 blade to sculpt the body, set angulation, and define the underline without creating a skirt.
  • Blend clipper work smoothly into the shoulders, flank, and neck for a clean, compact finish.
  • Shape a short, tidy Asian Fusion face with defined cheeks, an exposed stop, and short kissable lips.
  • Trim the muzzle and eyes safely to enhance expression and maintain balance with the skull.
  • Clip and shape ears using a 10 blade and safe reversing technique for crisp edges.

Michelle Weber has over 20 years of experience in the grooming industry.

Michelle enjoys travelling Australia with her dogs to partake in grooming competitions where she has won multiple 1st place, best in group and best in show awards in Gundog, Asian Fusion, Poodle, Handstripping, Salon and Model Dog.

A talented all-around groomer, Michelle has been featured in the 2020 Opawz ifashion pet creative grooming book and was also the judge of the Cairns Pup Cup in 2023.

Michelle has a strong passion for training and sharing her knowledge, she believes you never stop learning.

Teaching for 15 years she is very proud of the talented groomers she has trained over the years. She is currently an educator at the Australian Dog Grooming School and a regular contributor at igroomhub, an online education platform as well as being an avid Andis ambassador.

Michelle is also the owner and operator of her own salon, The Paw Stylist.
