In this Tutorial, You will learn:

  • How to hand-strip a Scottish Terrier for the classic show trim, using professional-level techniques to get that breed-standard finish
  • Tips for creating a balanced, level topline - and how to correct minor faults in the dog’s shape to keep the outline true to type
  • Ways to maintain that harsh, wiry coat texture while layering and smoothing out the jacket so it lies flat
  • How to groom the tail and rear angles to bring out a strong profile - think carrot tail, short hocks, and a well-balanced rear
  • Techniques for sculpting the head using both clippers and hand-stripping, including how to narrow the skull and make the ears look neat and tidy
  • Tricks for making the chest and shoulder area pop, giving definition without bulk for a clean front
  • How to shape the legs into cylindrical columns creating strong lines from the shoulder to the foot
  • Grooming compact feet and blending the skirt naturally to keep the whole look neat, boxy and elegant
  • How to use the right tools—thinners, carding knives, and finger plucking—to get smooth transitions and a polished overall finish
